Karol Daniš

Karol Daniš was born in Galanta (Slovakia) and began playing the violin at the age of three. At the age of six, he became an extraordinary student at the Bratislava Conservatory with Prof. Jozef Kopelman, with whom he later also graduated in violin pedagogy. He studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz with Prof. Boris Kuschnir and has attended various international master classes. He has taken part in competitions and has won numerous first prizes (including the Zoltán Kodály International Competition, the Jaroslav Kocian Violin Competition and the Louis Spohr Competition for Young Violinists in Weimar).

Despite his young age, Daniš has already performed chamber music with many exceptional musicians, including Benjamin Schmid, Natalie Prishepenko, Thomas Selditz, Petru Iuga, Karl-Heinz Schütz, Sharon Kam, Pauline Haas, Danjulo Ishizaka, Julian Arp, Milana Chernyavska, Christopher Hinterhuber, Nils Mönkemeyer and Clemens Hagen. He has been first concertmaster of the Graz Philharmonic since 2019.
